ginsberg, along with burroughs and kerouac seen as one of the voices of the beat generation, held some public readings of his poems during the sixties. this soundbite is taken from one of them. the beat generation started as a small group of close friends first, and a movement later. The term "Beat Generation" gradually came to represent an entire period in time.
