this my truth tell me yoursTaken from a phrase used by Aneurin Bevan at the end of his speeches.
Bevan, a well-known socialist, is best known for being the founder of the modern welfare state after World War II. The phrase has since been linked to the concept that there are no universal truths (like Christianity for example). Instead there are only personal truths that we must respect.
Bevan was born in Tredegar in Wales in 1897, the son of a miner. Through his own determination and effort, he became one of the most important ministers in the 1945-1951
labour government. He died in 1960.
