may refer (although it is of course used in a more general way as a tennessee williams-like criticism on men) to the belief of some colored peoples from rural areas in africa that hiv/aids is a white man's disease and that it does not infect black people. as some of them saw the whites as develish colonialist people, they thought hiv/aids was god's punishment for white people. this belief still is a problem in many countries in africa and is one of the reasons hiv/aids still is neglected by many africans.
