'I think that I have seen the Devil / Satan smiles at me in the mirror / Revolution in the Golden Palace / Four sickly boys are losing resistance'
huge palace in
bangkok, thailand, also called the 'grand palace'.it occupies an area of about one square mile, with one huge temple next to it. The palace and temple were the inspiration of the first king of the Chakri dynasty upon moving his capital across the river from Thonburi. Begun in 1782, the palace buildings are highly decorated with unique architectural details.
The royal temple of Wat Phra Kaeo, at the same complex, houses the Emerald Buddha, one of the most sacred Buddha images in Thailand. it is made of pure emerald and the King of thailand changes the dress of this buddha three times a year (during the summer, rainy, and winter season). the golden palace is open for tourists everyday. tourists (and local people as well) must strickly follow certain rules, such as wearing long trousers and shoes.
ballad of the bangkok novotel is about nicky wire's stay in a novotel in bangkok. he could not get outside because of the heat and he was afraid the police would arrest him for playing the anti-establishment song
repeat. that's why the golden palace is mentioned in the song.
