Clyde Chestnut Barrow and Bonnie Elizabeth Parker were two famous texan bandit-lovers, born in 1909 (Clyde) and 1910 (bonnie).
They met in 1930, a year after Clyde had commited his first major crimes, robbing a garage in Denton, Texas and steal a safe after robbing a house in Henrietta, Texas, only hours before. The police became aware of Clyde's whereabouts at the Parker home and arrested him. He was taken to the McClennan County jail. At Clyde's urging, Bonnie broke into a house and smuggled a gun to Clyde, which he used to escape with two other inmates. Shortly after, Clyde was captured in Ohio and sentenced to 14 years at the Eastham Prison Farm. Due to the efforts of his mother, Clyde was paroled on good behavior and hobbles out of prison on crutches; Bonnie and Clyde met up for the first time in 2 years. They will never part again.
A month later the Barrow gang, Bonnie included, robbed a store in Kaufman. Bonnie was arrested for the first and only time, but released after three months. From there on, Bonnie and Clyde began committing the series of robberies and incidental murders (numerous policemen included) which would make them famous around the globe and inspired many writers and filmmakers.
On May 23, 1934 another notorious texan criminal, Frank Hamer, and his posse set up an ambush and killed Bonnie and Clyde in Gibsland, Louisana. Bonnie was 23 years old and Clyde was 25. Ironically, Bonnie was shot 23 times and Clyde was shot 25 times.
