former and ex-guitarist of british band Suede. with suede butler released two albums: the famous debut album, entitled 'Suede', and the second album 'Dog Man Star'. Just before 'dog man star', he left the band as he thought no-one in the band trusted him.during the next three years, butler was searching for a musical way to go. He played with other musicians as a guest and later formed the band 'mcalmont & Butler', together with David McAlmont. This group did not last for long, though, and split up after releasing only two singles, 'Yes' and 'You Do'. The singles showed butlers transformation from a guitarist and song writer to a producer and song arranger. later he released the solo albums 'People Move On' and 'Friends And Lovers'. later butler and mcalmont reunited and released another record in 2002 called 'bring it back'.
