synopsis:
'D.O.A.' is a feature documentary tracking the first and last US tour of the punk band The Sex Pistols (see
be a man. be someone. kill someone. be a man. kill...), following them from Atlanta (January 5, 1978) to the tour's last gig in San Francisco (January 14, 1978), and their subsequent breakup. Shot in the US and Great Britain, it is a classic cult film known as the definitive film on the sex Pistols.
Carl Haber shot and produced material for this Lech Kowalski film, principally in
London during the heart of the punk movement.
The film is highlighted by the harrowing Chelsea hotel room scenes between Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, during probably the last interview they gave, following the breakup of the band, moments that are by now classics in rock and roll cinema history.
